I loved this book from the Amazon reviews and description. Just be aware that there is also a different version with a small but (to me) significant difference - I thought I was buying a story that says “My Dad is as wise as an owl...and as daft as a brush” (daft meaning ‘silly’). I confess I searched for and ‘read’ the book on a YouTube video before purchasing. However the book I received says “My Dad is as wise as an owl...except when he tries to help”. Because of that one difference I didn’t feel it would be a good Father’s Day gift. Other than that it is a very cute book with fun illustrations. We just don’t care for Dad-bashing in our home.

Buy this book for Father's Day. It's hilarious and doesn't make Dad out to be a hopeless boob like so many other books out there. There's a Mom counterpart, but not quite up to My Dad. Any age Dad works, from any age kid. You'll love it.
One of my sons favorite books for me to read to. He just loves the images and creative story!
Fun read great Father’s Day gift
My Dad is an adorable book for children to read with their dad. Dad is very believable and is everything a "real" dad should be. I originally bought this book to read with my 2nd grade students to teach figurative language (idioms), but I loved it so much that I bought it as a Father's Day present to give to my son. This is a fun book and I highly recommend it.

I bought this book for my five year old grand-daughter to read to her dad on Father's Day. We were away from home and I brought the book on vacation with us. She read it to her dad (my son) and everyone listening teared up as she read with such love and expression! It is a very cute story about dads...
This was a Christmas present my 6 year old son. He checked this book out at school and loved it. When he opened the gift and seen this book his eyes lit up. He looked at his daddy and said " This book is all about you daddy!" That was the highlight of our Christmas this year.
The story is written in a way that a child would see their dad. example my dad is as big as a house.
