Beyond Hades The Prometheus Wars Book 1 edition by Luke Romyn Literature Fiction eBooks

I really enjoyed this book, despite it being based around a subject that usually bores me to death, ancient mythology and archaeology do not float my boat.

However, this book is incredibly well written and perfectly formatted, which makes a huge difference to reading enjoyment. Added to that, it is jam-packed with action, page after page. I enjoyed the characters, with Talbot being a professor and not used to that much excitement, he is thrown into a world he can't really handle. I get that! I loved the military characters, the General, holding fast to his own agenda and not listening to the experts, the underlings, putting their life on the line to protect and serve. You really can get behind them all, and the loss hurts, even for the un-named, inconsequential ones.

This book is a full length novel, which is getting harder to find these days, and I appreciated that. The action and tension prevented it from every feeling like a drawn out read, and Mr Romyn even managed to hold my attention through subjects that I couldn't read a single paragraph about in a text book. It had a unique take on the myths which I found a pleasure. I would recommend not only the book, but the author, who has strived to do something different with his talent.

Also Mr Romyn, thanks for naming your proof readers and editor, I might see if I can seek them out and employ them!

Beyond Hades The Prometheus Wars Book 1 edition by Luke Romyn Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I was excited to read my first book by Luke Romyn. I've followed his promotions for Beyond Hades for a while on the Internet. I had the pleasure to take part in one of those promotions and received a free copy of Beyond Hades. I kept it on the back burner and promised myself to read it later. I am happy to report that I got to finally read it and was glad I did. It is a fun supercharged adventure through time and space, with cool tech and even cooler monsters willing to swallow a man whole, body and soul. Emphasis on soul. There are are some terrifying creatures in this story.
I loved Romyn's own take on mythology and how he brought it to the real world in a believable yet still godlike way. The main character, Doctor Talbot Harrison, goes through his own personal struggle though the whole story. Continually pushed by his guardian, Wes. Wes is the ultimate soldier and comic relief. You will love getting to know Wes.
I recommend reading this if you love fun and adventure. The action keeps coming and the tension keeps building until the final battle that is really well written. Romyn lays out the scene and the camera in your mind will take it from there. You will not be disappointed.
Luke Romyn has done it again,! In this thrilling novel his characters keep you so occupied as they move from world to world that the action simply doesn't stop! He might as well not have bothered with dividing it into Chapters because the last sentence of one Chapter just leads naturally to the first sentence of the next. The character, Wes, a bit of a foul-mouthed wise-cracking fighter joins up with the timid, mild-mannered Professor who cringes at Wes's language but is taunted into helping him save the world. As they progress through one disaster after another, the Professor not only picks up a bit of the foul language but, at times, becomes the leader rather than just being drug along against his will.

As Volume 1 ends, Wes and the Professor are working together to find a way to restore every to exactly as it was (and it must be EXACT) in order to restore the timeline! As with everything Luke Romyn writes, the action never slows for even an instant. Each seeming victory simply brings them face-to-face with an even worse enemy. As they quickly scheme on the fly for a way to win over this each threat, their ideas never seem far-fetched. They might leave you holding your breath while you read on, as you're wondering and hoping it will actually work. Believe me, there is lots of breath-holding as you root for this unlikely pair!!!

Naturally, the reader won't want to take the time to write their Review. You know Volume 2 is already waiting in your App and it would be so easy to just grab it and go!! But this author is such an excellent writer that you also know you never want him to stop crafting his stories. So Reviews are critical to keep him at it!!! All that said, the dishes and laundry can just wait!!! I've got to get on with finding out how they get out of this most crucial pickle the author left them in!!! A note to Luke I hope you're hurriedly writing Volume 3 because I know you'll leave me hanging again!!! Hurry, hurry! Write, write write!!!
